Summit Church Denver was planted on January 16th, 2011. Pastors Bryan Barley, Andy Metzger, their families, and a core team moved to Denver, got jobs, and began to meet in Bryan’s home. The team used their jobs and neighborhoods to build meaningful relationships for the sake of the gospel.
At their weekly church gatherings, they will sit in the living room, review last week’s study, listen to Bryan teach the Word, and then facilitate discussion. Through this, the group begins to grow in size and closer to each other. They pray for each other, celebrate victories, mourn losses, and meet each other’s needs. At the end of the night, after more time socializing together, maybe even grabbing dinner at a local restaurant, they each go their separate ways into the city to reach it for the glory of God.
The church was originally started as Soma Church but quickly changed the name to Summit Church Denver. You can read the explanation for that here.
